The visual identity for my own shoemakers’ workshop. My father and I run the shop together. We sew shoes by hand on a made-to-order basis in a small shop in the old part of Warsaw’s Ochota district.
I created the brand image and its visual identity—in addition to designing shoes at the workshop on an everyday basis.
The brand merges traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion design. The old blends with the new, and the workshop blends with a boutique. The shoes are hand-sewn in the same way as a century ago, and classic models are interpreted anew.
I designed the logo and printed materials for everyday use, i.e. envelopes, order forms, flyers, paper bags, and gift cards. The interior of the showroom where meetings and fittings take place was also designed by me.
A selection of textiles was also produced: cotton bags for packing shoes and shoemaker aprons.
The identity is visually simple. The shoes are made from natural materials, hence the choice of uncoated, recycled paper, calico, and minimalist cardboard boxes. The packaging was not supposed to distract attention from the contents.
The workshop has two separate websites: for women’s and for men’s shoes. The extensive content is structured in a visually transparent way. From the IT standpoint, the sites are based on Wordpress templates.
The typography of the mark alludes to lettering stencils, a hand-made technique of copying letters, to show that the shoes are made individually. The mark is designed to stamp well onto leather surfaces.
Under the Aga Prus brand, there are also leather and cotton handbags, for which I designed the labels, brochures, gift cards, and delivery packaging.
The handbag gift cards are printed on see-through plastic film tied with leather string.
